Why are so many JWs hicks?

okay, i know this might sound like an obvious question... but in all reality, why are so many jehovah's witnesses hicks?

why does it seem that there are so many in rural areas?

i hope this doesn't offend anyone... i don't really mean it to be an insult to any of you, cause obviously i consider most of you a lot smarter than some regular jw (or some stereotypical hick).

You're absolutely right. There is no shame in growing up in a country environment. I have learned to utilize my time alone fly fishing for steelhead, trout, and salmon. Church for me is nothing less than a Sunday spent swingin' flies for steelhead. I work a 9-5 job as an executive on my company, but there's nothing better than an afternoon hauling in lunkers to make you appreciate nature. This is how I spend my time recharging my batteries for the next week ahead. While I grew up as a redneck, I would much rather spend my time figuring out how to catch fish than waste my time thinking up ways to hate those that differ from me.

.....but I'm still not a hick. I was encouraged, growing up, to be a hick, and while I go fishing once a week, and shoot a variety of firearms on a regular basis, and drive a truck, and prefer to wear boots, I am not a hick......Or am I?

when i first left the witnesses, i had some times of being really pissed at all the wasted time and the way the people acted.

i remember one time, my spouse and i decided to just get ripped.

we did and as we did, we laughed and even cried at times over the issues.
